Terms and privacy
The rules for selling and buying on Sealed, in plain words. By posting a service, making a link or paying through one, you agree to them. Last updated October 10, 2026.
What Sealed is
Sealed is a marketplace and a payment link tool on Solana. When a buyer pays, the money goes into the Sealed escrow program, not to the seller, and the program's rules decide where it goes next: the buyer releases it, the seller claims it after the window, the seller refunds it, or the arbiter splits a dispute.
Sealed is not a bank, not a broker and not a party to your sale. The deal is between the buyer and the seller. Sealed never holds your keys and cannot move money held in escrow except to decide a dispute, within the limits the program sets.
Your wallet
- You use your own wallet. Keep its keys safe: nobody, including Sealed, can recover them.
- Transactions on Solana are final. Check the price, the currency and the seller before you pay.
- Each transaction costs a small network fee in SOL (a fraction of a cent), paid to the network, not to Sealed. A new order also keeps a deposit of about 0.002 SOL in its deal account.
- Signing a message to post, review or open a delivery is free and sends nothing on the chain.
Selling
- Your shop is linked to your X account and to the wallet that receives your payments. You are responsible for everything you post and sell.
- Describe what the buyer gets honestly: what is included, the delivery time, the number of revisions and what you need from them.
- Deliver what you sold, within the time you announced. If you cannot, refund the buyer: refunds cost you nothing.
- For instant delivery, the keys, codes and texts you add must work and be yours to sell. They are stored encrypted and shown only to the buyer of each order.
- Check the amount of every order before you deliver. If an order paid less than your price, do not deliver: refund it.
Not allowed
You may not sell or buy, through the market or a link:
- anything illegal where you or the buyer live, including drugs, weapons, counterfeit goods and stolen goods;
- stolen, hacked or phished accounts, cards, keys or personal data;
- malware, spam, fake engagement sold as real, or services meant to cheat or harm other people;
- sexual content involving minors, or any content that sexualizes or exploits them;
- securities, investment schemes, or promises of returns;
- anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or likeness.
Do not impersonate someone else, and do not ask buyers to pay you outside Sealed to avoid the escrow.
Buying
- Read the service and send the seller what they ask for. Use the on-site chat, so the conversation stays with the order.
- When you receive what you paid for, release the payment. A release cannot be undone.
- If something is wrong, open a dispute before the window ends. After the window, the seller can claim the money.
Disputes
A dispute freezes the money. The Sealed arbiter then decides how it is split, from everything to the buyer to everything to the seller.
- Both sides send their evidence to @usesealed on X with the deal number: screenshots of the chat, files delivered, tracking numbers, anything that shows what was agreed and what happened.
- The arbiter aims to decide within 7 days of the dispute. The decision is executed by the program and is final.
- The arbiter follows what the service or the link promised. When the evidence is missing, the side that does not answer usually loses.
- During a dispute the seller can still refund and the buyer can still release. If a dispute is not decided within 60 days after the window, the buyer can take the money back.
Fees
Posting services, making links and opening a shop are free. Sealed keeps 1% of the money that reaches the seller, when it is released, claimed or split. Refunds have no fee. Network fees are paid to Solana.
Moderation
Sealed can hide a service, a shop or a review that breaks these terms, or that buyers report as a scam. Hiding a service does not touch money already in escrow: open orders keep their rules. Reviews can only be left by buyers of a released order.
Risks
- Program risk. The escrow program is tested and its source is public, but it is not audited yet. A bug could lock or lose funds. Start with amounts you can afford to lose.
- Network risk. Solana or its public node can be slow or down for a while. The money stays in escrow.
- Counterparty risk. Sealed does not check sellers or buyers. Reviews and X profiles help, they are not a guarantee.
Sealed is provided as it is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, Sealed is not liable for losses from your deals, your wallet, the network or the program.
Privacy
What Sealed keeps, and where:
- On Solana, public for ever: every payment, with the buyer's and the seller's wallet addresses, the amount and the order reference.
- On the Sealed server, public: your wallet address, the public profile of the X account you linked (name, picture, handle), your services, your shop page, your reviews and the images you upload.
- On the Sealed server, encrypted: instant delivery stock. Only the buyer of an order can open the items it bought.
- Nowhere: your messages. They are end-to-end encrypted between wallets and travel through public Nostr relays; Sealed cannot read them.
Sealed sets one short cookie while you sign in with X, and no tracking or advertising cookies. A few things stay in your browser only, like your payment links and drafts. To remove your shop, remove your services, or ask @usesealed to delete it. What is on the chain cannot be erased by anyone.
Changes and contact
These terms can change; the date at the top says when. A change never alters the rules of a deal that is already paid: those are written in the program. Questions, reports and disputes go to @usesealed on X.
Nothing on Sealed is financial advice.
