How Sealed works
Everything a seller and a buyer need to know, in plain words. The rules below are the escrow program's rules: nobody, including Sealed, can change them for a deal that is already paid.
Overview
Sealed is escrow you can send as a link. A seller makes a link with what they sell, the price and a release window. The buyer pays through the link, and the money goes into the Sealed escrow program on Solana instead of the seller's wallet. It stays there until the buyer releases it, the window ends, the seller refunds it, or a dispute is decided.
Selling on the market
- Link your X account. Sign in with X, or post a short code from your account. Buyers see your name, picture and reviews; your sales are paid to the wallet you link.
- Post a service. One price or three packages, extras, delivery time, revisions, a gallery, questions to the buyer, and a FAQ. Everything is yours to write.
- Share it. Every service and every shop has its own page with a card that shows on X.
- Deliver, get paid. Orders appear under Orders with their countdown. The buyer releases the money, or you claim it once the window ends with no dispute.
Check the amount of each order before you deliver. If one paid less than your price (someone can call the program by hand), Sealed flags it: refund it instead.
Ordering a service
Pick a package and extras, then pay in USDC or SOL from your wallet. The money is held by the program for the delivery time plus three days to check the work. Send the seller what they ask for in the chat. When you are happy, release it; if not, open a dispute before the window ends.
Instant delivery
Some services deliver on their own: game keys, codes, accounts, download links. The seller loads them in advance and they are stored encrypted. Right after you pay, your order page shows what you bought; only your wallet can open it. You then have three days to check that it works before the seller can claim the money.
Messages and reviews
Messages are end-to-end encrypted between the two wallets. Sealed cannot read them, so for a dispute, send screenshots. Once an order is released, the buyer can leave one review; only buyers of real orders can review.
Selling with a link
- Make the link. In the app, name what you sell, describe what the buyer gets, set a price in USDC or SOL and a release window of 1, 3, 7 or 14 days, and choose the wallet that gets paid.
- Share it. Paste it in a DM, a bio, a server or a post. The link carries the terms, so you do not need an account or a listing.
- Wait for the payment. When the buyer pays, the deal appears in your Deals tab with the money held and the countdown running.
- Deliver. Hand over what you sold, the way you agreed with the buyer.
- Get paid. The buyer releases the money, or, if they go quiet and do not dispute, you claim it yourself once the window ends. You receive the price minus 1%.
You can refund a buyer at any time while the money is held, even during a dispute. Refunds cost you nothing.
Buying through a link
- Check the link. It shows the seller's wallet, what you get, the price and the window. Make sure the seller's wallet is the one they told you about.
- Pay and seal. Connect your wallet on Solana and pay. For USDC your wallet first asks you to allow this one payment, then to pay.
- Receive what you bought. The seller can see that the money is waiting, but cannot touch it.
- Release it, or dispute it. Happy? Release it in one tap. Something wrong? Open a dispute before the window ends and the money freezes.
If you do nothing before the window ends, the seller can claim the money. Release or dispute in time.
Every ending
Disputes
The buyer can open a dispute while the money is held and the window has not ended. From that moment the money is frozen: the seller can no longer claim it, but the seller can still refund and the buyer can still release.
The Sealed arbiter then looks at what both sides send (messages, screenshots, tracking numbers) and decides the split, from everything to the buyer to everything to the seller. The seller's part pays the 1% fee, the buyer's part does not. The program only lets the arbiter decide where disputed money goes; the arbiter can never take it.
To send your side, write to @usesealed on X with the deal number and what shows what was agreed and what happened: chat screenshots, files, tracking numbers. The arbiter aims to decide within 7 days.
If a dispute is not decided within 60 days after the window, the buyer can take the money back on their own.
Fees
Sealed keeps 1% of the money that reaches the seller, and nothing else: no sign-up, no listing fee, no monthly plan. Refunds are free. Every action on Solana also costs a network fee of a fraction of a cent in SOL, paid by whoever sends the transaction. Each order keeps a deposit of about 0.002 SOL in its deal account, the rent Solana asks for storing it.
Example: a 120 USDC deal pays the seller 118.80 USDC and Sealed 1.20 USDC.

To pay, your wallet needs the price in USDC or SOL, plus about 0.003 SOL for the network fee and the deal deposit. Phantom, Solflare and Backpack all work.
The program
The Sealed program is not live on Solana yet. Payments open the day it is; links made before then keep working.
paythe buyer pays; the money is sealed in a new deal account with the order's fingerprint.releasethe buyer sends the money to the seller.disputethe buyer freezes the money before the window ends.claimthe seller takes the money after the window when there is no dispute.refundthe seller sends everything back.resolvethe arbiter splits a disputed deal.reclaimthe buyer takes the money back if a dispute is never decided.
Read the source (Rust, about 35 KB once built). Every ending is tested on a local Solana network, and the whole site is tested end to end on it. It has not been audited yet.
Risks
- Smart contract risk. A bug in the contract could lock or lose funds. Start with amounts you can afford.
- The arbiter decides disputes. For disputed deals you rely on the arbiter's judgment.
- Fake links. Anyone can make a link. Check that the seller's wallet on the link is the one the seller gave you.
- USDC can be frozen by its issuer. If a wallet is frozen, payments to or from it fail.
- Your wallet is yours. Sealed never asks for your keys or your seed phrase.
Questions
Do I need an account?
To buy, a wallet on Solana is enough. To sell on the market, you also link your X account, so buyers know who you are. No KYC.
What if the seller never delivers?
Open a dispute before the window ends. The money freezes, and the arbiter sends it back to you when the seller cannot show the work.
Can one link be paid several times?
Yes. Each payment is its own deal with its own window. Share a new link when the terms change.
Where are my links stored?
The terms live inside the link itself. The app keeps a list of the links you made in your browser; deals are read from Solana.
Can Sealed take my money?
No. The program only pays the buyer or the seller. The arbiter can only split disputed money between them.
Which wallets work?
Any Solana wallet that can sign messages: Phantom, Solflare and Backpack in a browser, or their in-app browsers on a phone.
